Bethesda-Chevy Chase (B-CC) CAP

The Bethesda-Chevy Chase (B-CC) Composite Squadron has continued to train, develop, and mentor leaders of character since its inception in 1965. Currently meeting in Gaithersburg, Maryland, we are a local unit of the Civil Air Patrol.  As a volunteer organization and part of the Official Auxiliary of the United States Air Force, we are charged with the implementation of three Congressionally-mandated missions: Aerospace Education, Cadet Programs, and Emergency Services.

Thanks to the hard work of our volunteer airmen, we take pride in our Squadron's history of excellence.  In 2012, we were recognized as one of Civil Air Patrol's National Squadrons of Distinction.  More recently, the Squadron has been recognized with the Quality Cadet Unit Award from 2014-2021 and was awarded the Squadron Aerospace Achievement Award for 2020/2021.  Also in 2015, the Squadron was recognized as the 2015 Maryland Wing Squadron of the year, 2015 Group I Squadron of the Year, and even celebrated its 50th anniversary!  In 2016 and 2017, the Squadron's Ground Team was recognized as the Maryland Wing Ground Team of the Year and also earned the Middle East Region Ground Team of the Year in 2016 and 2017.   In 2020, the Squadron was recognized as the Group 1 Squadron of the Year.  Last year, Maryland Wing recognized the Squadron as the 2021 Maryland Wing Squadron of Merit!

As a composite squadron, our membership consists of cadets (ages 12 through 20) and senior members (ages 18 and above). We meet weekly, every Thursday from 1900 (7:00 pm) to 2130 (9:30 pm), at the Montgomery County Public Safety Headquarters located at 100 Edison Park Drive, Gaithersburg, MD 20878. Please see our calendar and meeting/event information below for more about upcoming activities. If you are interested in joining our organization, we welcome you to any of our weekly Thursday meetings to observe, meet our staff, and learn more!
